In addition to the public training program, GLC may provide upon the
client request, other training courses/workshops including:
Laboratory Safety
Safety is a key and
priority element of lab work. This interactive training course aims at
introducing participants to laboratory safety provisions including basic
laboratory safety concepts, laboratory layout design, fundamental safety
provisions, personal protective equipment (PPE), and laboratory safety
standard. Participants shall brainstorm with the assistance of the
facilitator the potential hazards of lab work and identify existing and
required engineering, administrative, and personal controls.
Questionnaire-Based
Studies: The Complete Cycle
This training workshop
provides participants with hands-on experience with the complete cycle
of questionnaire-based studies. Key pitfalls and countermeasures are
interactively discussed with participants along with highlights of key
success factors. Topics include: the complete cycle of
questionnaire-based studies, project team selection and management;
questionnaire design steps, subjects interaction and involvement, data
collection steps and alternatives, basic statistical overview for
questionnaire-based studies, results analysis and interpretation,
results presentation and communication. A statistical software will be
used for demonstration.
Quality in
Healthcare: Tools and Methods
This workshop provides a systematic review and understanding of the quality
improvement tools and methods that can be implemented in healthcare
organizations. The workshop addresses the urgent need for healthcare
organizations to demonstrate quality in their processes. Through a
"how-to" approach and a step-by-step instruction on the use and
implementation of quality tools for improving patient satisfaction and
organizational performance, the workshop provides a unique opportunity
to the understanding of different issues in healthcare quality.
Participants of the workshop should be able to
identify the potential applications of the essential practices,
tools, and methods of modern quality improvement at their organizations,
such as the use of statistical tools in collecting and analyzing data,
performance measurement, use of statistical process control in
healthcare, and improving patient satisfaction.
Ergonomics for Safe & Healthy Work Environment
This
course aims at emphasizing the role of ergonomics in creating a healthy
and safe working environment. The course has been designed to appeal to
a range of occupational health and safety professionals, including
various health practitioners in order for them to develop an
understanding of the impact that the work environment has on human
performance and to further develop skills in identifying, evaluating and
controlling workplace hazards.
