The Design Of Experiment and Computer
Simulation Workshop
This workshop focuses on the advanced improvement tools of the design of
experiment (DOE) and computer simulation (CS).
DOE is the
most powerful Six Sigma tool; it focuses on improving process efficiency
and product quality. Participants will be able to appreciate how DOE
could be used to evaluate and compare alternatives, improve product
robustness, improve process yield, reduce variability, reduce
development time, and reduce overall costs.
With this
background, participants, with the help of the facilitator, will be able
to identify potential applications of DOE at their organizations.
CS is a
technique for building a computer representation (model) of a system or
a process for the purpose of investigating various operation strategies.
Participants will be able to appreciate how computer simulation (CS)
could be coupled with design of experiment (DOE) to evaluate and compare
alternatives; investigate various planning decisions; assess key
performance indicators; and reduce overall costs.
With this
background, participants, with the help of the facilitator, will be able
to identify potential applications of CS at their organizations. Such
applications may include, but are not limited to, simulation for
deciding on location and capacity of production/service outlets;
simulation for manpower scheduling and distribution; and simulation for
capacity planning.
