Safety and Health Fundamentals
“Hazard”, “risk”, “loss”, “engineering vs. administrative controls”,
“chronic vs. acute”, “incident, accident, and near-misses”, “unsafe act
vs. unsafe condition”, “The Domino Theory”, and “leading vs. lagging
metrics”. These are few examples of fundamental concepts in health,
safety, and environment (HSE). It is key that the HSE professional has a
clear and working comprehension of such concepts.
The aim of
this course is to provide participants with solid, clear, and practical
understanding of fundamental HSE concepts. This background is essential
for the job of an HSE professional and any employee involved in HSE
