Industrial & Feasibility Studies
GLC services include conducting
industrial and feasibility studies as follows:
1.
Survey Studies. GLC consultants can assist you
to execute efficient and valid survey studies through careful planning of
activities and required resources, as well as close monitoring of the
execution; especially during the data collection stage. The accurate
definition of the study objectives, design, and proper data gathering;
whether through surveys (manual or electronic), focus groups, or one-on-one
interviews; assure valid (accurate) results. GLC approach includes the
communication and engagement of all those impacted throughout the study
lifecycle in order to increase buy-in and implementation of results.
2.
Computer Simulation Studies. Computer
Simulation (CS) studies involve building a computer representation (model)
of a system or a process for the purpose of investigating various operation
strategies. This computer modeling of the system provides the following
advantages: experiment with systems without disturbing them, experiment with
systems under hypothetical conditions, experiment with nonexistent systems,
try changes that may be politically sensitive, experiment with a system over
a long period in a short time, and save time and money. Applications of CS
studies include deciding on the location and capacity of service outlets,
manpower scheduling and distribution, and capacity planning.
3.
Design of Experiment Studies. An experiment is
an investigation carried out under controlled conditions in order to
discover an unknown effect or law, or to test or establish a hypothesis.
Design of Experiments (DOE) provides various tools to carry out this
investigation in the most efficient time, and cost effective way. DOE
studies support decisions at the technical level; including to evaluate and
compare alternatives, improve product robustness, improve process yield,
reduce variability, reduce development time, and reduce overall costs.
Applications of DOE studies extend to all types of organizations; including
petroleum, healthcare, environmental, etc.
4.
Technical and Economic Feasibility Studies.
Technical and Economic Feasibility (TEF) studies are used to support
decision making on investment initiatives, required capital, and proper
timings to inject capital. A TEF study consist of detailing the business or
investment venture; including the product and management involves. It also
includes exploration of the market potentials, competition, and sales
forecast. Finally, it involves financial analysis which includes initial and
operational costs estimation as well as preparation of financial projections
using pro forma income statements and cash flows.
