ISO 17025 Accreditation

Gulf Lead Consultants (GLC) provides a complete program of technical consultancy services to assist testing and calibration laboratories with the design and implementation of laboratory competency systems that meet the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:1999.

GLC consultants and associates have the practical experience of assisting several local labs in implementing laboratory competency systems in order to gain accreditation to ISO 17025.

GLC ISO 17025 Approach

The GLC approach consists of three inter-related phases:

1. Setup and Initiation. Consultancy services include the formation of the quality team and definition of members' roles, determining the scope of accreditation, assistance in the selection of the accreditation body, determining applicable requirements including ISO 17025, assessing lab, equipments and tests readiness, and conducting training, as appropriate.

2. Laboratory/Organizations Changes and Documentation. Consultancy services in this phase include the performance of proficiency testing, the modification of organization, as appropriate, and the design of the quality system and development of quality manual. Additional classroom and on-the-job training is performed, as appropriate.

3. Implementation. Consultancy services in this phase include close follow-up of quality system implementation, additional training in internal audit and system administration, and performance of a pre-accreditation audit.

Once GLC determines that the laboratory is ready for the accreditation visit, GLC shall assist in the accreditation application and give support during the accreditation visit, as appropriate.
