Associate Safety Professional (ASP)

Gulf Lead
Consultants (GLC) provides a complete professional development program
that prepares participants to become Associate Safety Professionals
(ASP) by the American Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
The program consists of intensive training and preparation for the ASP
certification examination. The training duration, which is determined
based on the assessment of participants background, may be distributed
in such a way to accommodate the participants’ workload and work
schedules and will cover all elements of the body of knowledge (BOK) for
the Fundamentals of Safety.
Participants
will gain fundamental knowledge and skills of designing comprehensive
health, safety, and environment (HSE) management systems, implementing
policies and procedures, determining the effectiveness of management
systems, implementing risk management strategies, applying sound
business practices and economic principles to increase the value of the
safety processes, evaluating facilities, products, systems, equipment,
workstations, and processes using hazard analysis techniques,
recommending and evaluating controls, complying with SH&E regulations,
developing, delivering, and evaluating safety training programs,
communication hazards, risks, and control measures, maintaining records,
and professional conduct and ethics, among other topics.
The
ASP certificate assures that the certified individual has the competency
in the Fundamentals of Safety. The ASP professional certification
program is highly recommended to newly appointed engineers and health,
safety, and environment (HSE) and loss prevention (LP) professionals who
are expected to have basic and fundamental knowledge and skills in
hazard types and controls; focusing on four key subjects: HSE
engineering, HSE management, HSE information management and
communication, and Professional conduct and ethics.
